ISO 9001 International Standards Organization has been selected as the formalized quality program at Thurston Manufacturing Company. Section 9001 refers to the business aspects of purchasing, manufacturing, marketing and engineering.
This Internationally acclaimed process is far more than checking parts for imperfections. ISO 9001 specifically defines how we conduct business from policy through procedure. The program ensures accuracy from accounting to order entry to engineering change orders to cost of quality information gathering. Furthermore, it provides the means for self-regulation through the use of periodic audit controls and corrective action activities, not only internally, but extending back to our vendors and forward into marketing.
We employ a full time staff whose role is to verify the continued success of the program. We can say without question that our business operations have progressed rapidly forward since the implementation of ISO 9001. It doesn't guarantee error free work, but it undoubtedly reduces the risk of producing defective parts and greatly enhances the task of getting the right product to the right customer at the right price and on time as promised.
