Dimensions in TransportAt 16'8" wide, the BLU-JET AT4010 has one of the narrowest transport widths on the market when compared to others with similar prices, tank capacities, and swath widths. In fact, some competitive models must remove row units in order to accomplish anything close to the narrow transport width AT4010 provides. Additionally, the AT4010 has a transport height of only 12' and an overall length of just 15'8". The small transport widths achieved by AT4010 are due to the superior design of its 5-section folding toolbar.Cone Bottom Tank DesignWith over a decade in production and hundreds of thousands of acres in field experience, BLU-JET's cone bottom design has proven itself superior within the marketplace. Stability and functionality are the hallmark features that set AT4010 apart from competitive models. The centerpiece is the unique design of the chassis, which houses a 1400 gallon cone bottom tank. The cone bottom rests within a cradle specifically designed to keep the tank in place by using the weight of the liquid it holds. The tank cradle is positioned to center the liquid fertilizer load on the chassis axle, where it can be properly supported through the field.The cone bottom tank design also allows a shorter distance between the tractor hitch and the applicator axle, which provides superior tracking through contours and on side hills when compared to applicators with longer tanks. The cylindrical shape of the tank limits the movement of the liquid within the tank without requiring use of baffles. This reduces surging of the tractor and applicator which keeps unnecessary stresses from being applied to the applicator and tractor hitch due to weight transfer. The tank also provides virtually complete drain out of product without the use of a sump and improved rearward visibility in transport. Highly Functional ToolbarBLU-JET applicators are well known for their toolbar versatility and functionality. In fact, BLU-JET pioneered Gull Wing technology in liquid side dress applicators and continues to use it in today's models. The gull wing design on the AT4010 keeps wider swath width toolbars from drooping on the ends and knocking over crops. An internal hydraulic push bar automatically engages when lifting the toolbar, which forces the wings higher than the center and avoids unnecessary crop damage during turn around.Another staple of the AT4010 toolbars is the ability to cover multiple planter sizes with the same applicator. For example, the owner of a 40'0 AT4010 liquid applicator can easily fold the outer wings and match the rows on a 30' planter. Switching from 40' swath to 30' swath takes mere seconds, including turning the shutoffs to the outer wing rows and recalibrating the pump. This allows the farmer to potentially do some custom application for neighbors, or for custom and rental businesses to extend the operational capacity of their fleet without purchasing additional equipment. AT4010 toolbars are made to accommodate varying row configurations including a variety of widths, and options for multiple injection units per row.
